Versatile blogger award.

Thanks a lot to Connie from ConnieInWonderland for nominating me! I feel so honored!
I have to admit that I really did not know how these awards worked, but know I learned! You just have to:
a. once you receive an award, thank back and link the person that nominated you, of course!
b. list 7 things abou you.
c. and finally nominate another 10bloggers yourself!

So, as I promised, these are 7 things about me.
1. I love coocking for people I love.
2. I love creating jewellery with polymer clay but I do not wear what I create, that's kinda weird.
3. People would never tell so, but I have a deep sense of pride.
4. I love dogs, mine is called Chicco and he's the love of my life.
5. Chicco is sleeping on my knees with his head on my left arm right now, so it's quite difficult for me to write.
6. I'm now single after a seven-months very difficult relationship.
7. And last, but not least... I like girls and I'm not afraid of telling it, at all.

And those are my nominees!

12(+1) photos: a Year of Memories --> January

(I dediced to start a project: a polaroid photo each month, just to remember what I did, what people around me did and how life was going on.)
I can briefly resume my January as "Eyes wide open, pride fixed, back to life. Feels good."
And it is how it looked like:

Pre-spring blogger's trend: "ombré" hair.

"Ombré hair" is an hair treatment that gives you brighter and lighter shades of your hair color in the lower part of your hair.

It's like when you do some "meches" or "streaks" to your hair and then they grow fast before you can go back to your hairdresser (and that's ugly), but believe me it is really not a bad effect, it is amazing instead, 'cos it gives a sort of new light and shine to every hairstyle that is not totally straight (be careful, very straight hairs are not fair with this style!).

I think that the first person I remember when I think of "ombré hair" is our beloved Alexa Chung.

But how could we forget to mention the person who probably started this trend (or at least pushed it at its more extreme level), Lady Gaga?

And so many lovely bloggers talked about this so far:

LLY MLRS was one of the firsts to announce it last April, Hivennn is thinking about it, while Annebeth from The Styling Dutchman has decided to "go ombré hair" (and she is also talking about another blogger who has done it!) and Lula from Lulapalooza has already done an amazing work doing her ombré hair by herself!

Don't you feel inspired?
I regreat not having long hair so much right now!

Do you want me to believe that these are gorgeous?

 Prada Spring/Summer 2011 collection: SHOES.

I really don't want to look like the "alternative and polemic" one, but please, am I so wrong saying that those shoes are not beautiful as they want us to think?
Let's be honest, would you buy or crave and desire them, if they were not Prada's? I don't think so.

Recently haute couture is following a strange policy: first part is to shock people, let they talk about the collection, then create a must that everyone would desire so that the maison can re-valuate itself.
And us, all the bloggers, from the littlest bloggers like I proudly am, to the biggest blogger stars, are part of this process.

Stop this! I love haute couture because it is not just about starting trends that the world will follow, but also because, in my opinion, it is made to create dreams, to charm people, to let designers express their feelings, 'cos they're artist, do not forget it. Where is this all gone? Bring it back to me, please...

Let's start saying that the collection itself is not bad at all!

these are the kitch-est pairs:

I already miss sales.

Ok, so sales are (almost) ended now. Uhm. Too bad.  :(

But...I am waiting for the 16edition of "Vintage Selection" in Florence! It's one of the most important events for vintage and thrifted clothings in Italy!
Just few weeks after the big Pitti Uomo, Florence re-open itself to milions of people who are fascinated by vintage or simply love fashion. In a beautiful location (Stazione Leopolda), you can find lots of italian stores reunited in one place, and the selection of clothes by A.N.G.E.L.O, that also sells in the "kilo" way: you can buy a kilo of clothes and pay it about 10euros.
Last year I liked this event, so this year I'm hoping to be impressed, too!

And now I want to show you all my lucky founds in the "sale time"!

12(+1) photos: a Year of Memories.

I dediced to start a project: a polaroid photo each month, just to remember what I did, what people around me did and how life was going on. But I want to start since last december included. Inspired? You can also do a "365days", or whatever you want!

This is the shot that resume the last
December

How is it like to be alone?
I felt alone even when I was sitting next to the person I loved.
It doesn't really make a huge different now that she's not here for me anymore.
I guess that sometimes love is not enough. That's how things should go.
I'm ok, now.

(ps: those are not a pair of shoes, anyway.)

Fashion book: Inès De La Fressange - "La parisienne"

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

This book is perfect for all the girls that admire the special style that French girls "de Paris" have!
If you don't know what I'm talking about, just think about a button-up plain white shirt in a pair of tailored pants, with mocassins or flats. And, again, the typical floral "provencal" dress with a knitted cardi and a messanger bag.

Inès De la Fressange
is an amazing woman (I won't tell her age, but you will be very surprise when you'll discover it) that always worked in the fashion system, and it's still very present. She was a model, she's working for Roger Vivier and she's a muse for Karl Lagerfeld, that wanted her to take part in his Chanel spring/summer 2011collection show.
Borned in Argentine, raised in France, established in Italy for love, who can knows the secrets of the "Parisienne style" better than her?

Here she's walking on the catwalk in the Chanel spring/summer 2011 show.

Monki please, create an online-store!

on Monki.
Monki television: a fashion report by Susie Bubble of Style Bubble
So...if you wanted me to crave Monki's clothes even more, you did a great job!

As you all know, or you will soon discover, Monki is a brand that ONLY sells in stores all over Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Germany.
And HERE THE DRAMA BEGINS!
Amazing clothes, amazing design, amazing materials, amazing shops, not so expensive (but you shouldn't really try to convert the prices, 'cos in case they'll sell in your country in the future, the prices will be re-edited), everything perfect exept that YOU CAN'T BUY IT!
And now my heart breaks each time I hear the word "Monki", even if you ment to say "monkey". Is this normal? I think Monki is driving me mad!

Let me show you all I desire and can't have...lol

Yohji Yamamoto Spring/Summer 2011

This collection begins as a total-black dark one, but then here come some amazing neon colors details and leggings.

It's really stunning because it put togheter a gothic atomosphere with bright colors, that are two things you would never ever associate.

Crosses and religious symbols are the "leitmotif" of the collection, but it doesn't sound new to us. Plus, bright colors will be a trend for S/S season this year, don't they?!

Outfit of the Week: Daniela.

This is a special one.
It's not a classical "Outfit of the Week", I'm not posting something I saw in the internet or whatever, I'm posting a pic where my friend looks so cute and fashionable.

Stavolta è speciale.
Non è un classico "Outfit of the Week", non sto postando qualcosa che no trovato in internet, sto postando una foto dove la mia amica è davvero carina e fashionable.

Bags and clutches: what, when and why?

Lately, fashion seems to have given a re-birth to those kinds of bags that we always had, but worn just in special occasion (clutches) and we all love it.

But a lot of people ask: how can I decide when to wear a bag, or a clutch, or a box bag, or a satchel?

First of all, with a little help from Topshop.com, let's see what we're talking about:

Topshop New In Dresses Shoes Accessories Shop By Features Collections Top Nav
Be in time for Christmas Shop all box bags Shop all totes bags Shop all totes bags Shop all satchels Shop all satchels Shop all clutch bags Shop all clutch bags Overstudded Leather Clutch Terracotta Oversized Bow Suede Clutch Bag Large Leather Zebra Print Bag Mock Croc Black Embossed Suede Duffle Bag Black Buckle Satchel Burgundy Leather Contrast Buckle Strap Satchel Faux Lizzard Skin Box Bag Embellished Box Clutch Bag Be in time for Christmas
Bottom Nav

So now let's talk about when and why!

  • satchel: right now is the perfect casual and cool bag, the one you use to give a personal touch to an everyday outfit, for example a simple jeans+tee+lace-up shoes outfit, because of its shape, originally coming from a bag that was employed by office worker, or teachers.
  • box bag: is perfect for outfits that are elegant but special, for example some vintage dresses or some balloon skirts, because those bags are kinda vintage and special themselves, so they have to be added to an outfit that can keep their meanings on.
  • clutches: similar to box bag for the way you can use them and for their dimensions, but they are more versatile and, actually, can be stiled with a casual-smart outfit, but you have to be very careful: you can do this if you're wearing some elegant details in it, for example a blazer on a legging, with heels (Kate Lanphear style!). Perfect for an evening party, with a cocktail dress.
  • tote bag: is the empowered, re-visited version of a shopping bag, for each hour of the day. It comes in a milion of prints, patterns and shapes. It's very useful and practical. It's the easier to combine. It really goes perfectly with everything, from a tee to a dress. You can't go wrong with that!

So... what's your favourite kind of bag?
